Often in life we avoid people
who are different than we are. We only want to be friends with or show love to
people who are like us, but Jesus wants to flip that around.
Today we learnt about a man
named Zacchaeus. Most people saw Zacchaeus as a tax collector, someone who was
greedy and dishonest. They didn't want to have anything to do with him because he wasn't like them. But Jesus saw him as someone who was lonely, as someone
who needed Him. Jesus loved him, cared about him and went out of his way to be
his friend. As a result Zacchaeus was flipt and his life was changed.
Jesus wants us to look for what
he sees. We can appreciate people who are different than we are and we can love
them as Jesus does.
HERE'S THE FLIP! LOOK FOR WHAT JESUS SEES
Remember to learn the Bible verse for the next Junior Edge (9th March):
"As I have loved you so you must love one another." John 13:34
On the 9th March come with a story about how you showed love to someone different than you this week. You may even like to tell us about it on this blog.
