Often in life we avoid people who are different than we are. We only want to be friends with or show love to people who are like us, but Jesus wants to flip that around.
Today we learnt about a man named Zacchaeus. Most people saw Zacchaeus as a tax collector, someone who was greedy and dishonest. They didn't want to have anything to do with him because he wasn't like them. But Jesus saw him as someone who was lonely, as someone who needed Him. Jesus loved him, cared about him and went out of his way to be his friend. As a result Zacchaeus was flipt and his life was changed.

Jesus wants us to look for what he sees. We can appreciate people who are different than we are and we can love them as Jesus does.

HERE'S THE FLIP!  LOOK FOR WHAT JESUS SEES

Remember to learn the Bible verse for the next Junior Edge (9th March):

"As I have loved you so you must love one another." John 13:34

On the 9th March come with a story about how you showed love to someone different than you this week. You may even like to tell us about it on this blog.

Next Sunday is the Family Service, so there will be no Junior Edge, Kool Kids or Mini Edge.

Well done, Aiden, Mitchel and Kristen in resisting temptation today in our game ‘Temptation Station’!
Today we talked about temptation – the desire in each of us to do the wrong thing. Every day we are tempted to do the things we shouldn’t, just like Jesus was in our Bible story. Giving in to temptation is not worth it. Resisting temptation, however, leads to the best life – the life Jesus wants for us.
We can get flipt  and SAY NO TO SIN like Jesus did.

Don't forget the four ways we can resist temptation -
RUN AWAY
SAY NO QUICKLY
USE YOUR BIBLE
PRAY

HERE’S THE FLIP:  SAY NO TO SIN

THIS WEEK’S BIBLE VERSE TO LEARN AND REMEMBER:
“No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down;
He’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; He’ll always be there to help you come through it.”        1 Corinthians 10:13 (MSG)

Grades 3&4: Learn the parts highlighted in blue AND green.

DON'T FORGET TO COME NEXT WEEK WITH A STORY ABOUT HOW YOU SAID NO TO SIN THIS WEEK OR YOU CAN TELL US ON THIS BLOG!

What a great start to the year! It was so good to see so many 'Junior Edgers' today. We hoped you enjoyed our first day of flipt. Today we learnt that Jesus flipt Peter's life around when he decided to obey and follow Jesus. Jesus wants us to follow him, too. That means to stop doing what we want, to get flipt and do things Jesus' way.

HERE'S THE FLIP!  LIVE HIS WAY

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:

"Come, follow Me," Jesus said. Matthew 4:19

Next week come with a story about how you chose to LIVE HIS WAY this week. You may even like to tell us about it on this blog. Cool? See you next week.

Hey kids!
Don't forget to learn the prayer that Jess taught you on Sunday - prizes await!

Father in Heaven

I give you today

All I think and do and say

I give you the good times

as well as the bad

The times when I am happy the times when I’m sad

Fill me with grace and make me strong

With you at my side

I won’t go wrong

Amen
