30/3/14
Imagine a friend who is better than anyone you’ve ever met. Someone who will never let you down, someone who understands everything about you, who is always there to talk to; someone who gave up everything to be friends with you and who wants to hang out with you forever.
Well, you can have a friend like that if you’re willing to make the most important FLIP of all. It’s a FLIP that will change your life forever. It’s a FLIP that will make you Forever Friends . . . with Jesus.
So how can you become Forever Friends with Jesus?                 It’s easy. You just have to pray and . . .
ADMIT that you’ve done wrong things and ask God to forgive you
BELIEVE that Jesus is God’s Son and that he died on the cross to take the punishment for all the wrong stuff you’ve done.
CHOOSE to follow Jesus and live God’s way

HERE'S THE FLIP!  Being Friends with Jesus is as easy as A–B-C

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:

For God so loved the world that He have His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

If you have made the FLIP to become Forever Friends come next week with a story about how you told one person this week that you are friends with Jesus. See you next week.

The question for this week: What does the ‘B’ stand for?

Next week is our last session of FLIPT. Don’t miss out! You’ll discover that following Jesus is worth it!

Even though next Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, Junior edge, Kool Kids and mini edge will be on.

23/3/14
Today in Junior edge we saw how Jesus stood up for what was right when he cleared the temple of money changers. He knew that they were cheating people and this made him very angry. The temple should have been a place where people came to worship God, but it had become a place that was dishonouring to God.
Most of the time standing up for what is right is a very hard thing to do. It takes courage. But if we get FLIPT, Jesus will give us the courage we need to STOP AND STAND. He wants us to stand up for what’s right, so He’ll help us do it.
HERE'S THE FLIP!  STOP AND STAND

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:

Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Next week come with a story about how you stood up for what is right this week, or tell us about it on this blog. Remember you get a sticker for writing on the blog as well as telling us in the Week Speak Out.  See you next week.

16/3/14
Today, in Junior Edge, we learnt that Peter lied three different times about knowing Jesus, but Jesus didn’t make Peter pay for what he did. Jesus forgave him for free.
Just as Jesus forgives us for the wrong things we do, he wants us to forgive each other. When someone is mean to you, Jesus doesn’t want you to hold on to the bad feelings. He doesn’t want you to be mean back to that person. He wants you to forgive them.
When we don’t forgive for free we can lose friends and hurt those we care about. When we are angry or hurt because of what someone has done to us, we need to get FLIPT – to live like Jesus and forgive others for free.

HERE'S THE FLIP!  FORGIVE FOR FREE

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:

Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13

Next week come with a story about how you forgave someone this week, or tell us about it on this blog. Remember you get a sticker for writing on the blog as well as telling us in the Week Speak Out.  See you next week.

Check out the God and Me page of this blog to learn more about what God says about FORGIVING OTHERS.

9/3/14
Today we saw how the rich young ruler missed out on the most important thing ever. He met Jesus and even asked Jesus what he needed to do. But he wasn’t willing to FLIP WHAT’S FIRST. He let other things be more important than Jesus.
We have a choice to make, just like the rich young ruler. Jesus wants to be first in our lives and give us the best life possible. We need to FLIP WHAT’S FIRST and decide to follow and obey Jesus.

HERE'S THE FLIP!  FLIP WHAT’S FIRST

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:

But put God’s Kingdom first. Do what He wants you to do. Then all of those things will also be given to you.   Matthew 6:33 (NIrV)

Next week come with a story about how you FLIPT what was first in your life this week, or tell us about it on this blog. Remember you get a sticker for writing on the blog as well as telling us in the Week Speak Out.  See you next week.
