27/7/14
Waffle and Melinda’s adventure helped us understand that the Bible is also like a ‘help manual’ for a car or a computer. The Bible helps us when we make a mistake or don’t know what to do next. It helps us get things right again. The BIKI (BIBLE KNOWLEDGE INTERFACE) told us the story of the rich man who thought he did everything right. Jesus corrected him and showed him that his problem was that his riches were more important to him than following God.
Is the robot waffle getting closer to stealing the Bible? He almost caught Melinda and the real Waffle today!

This week’s question: Name the three things, that we have learnt so far, that the Bible is like.

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:
Timothy 3: 16.  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults and giving instruction for right living.

BOOKS OF THE BIBLE CHALLENGE:  Genesis - Jonah

20/7/14
Today, in Junior edge, Melinda showed Waffle that the Bible is like a lamp, or a torch. Just like a lamp shows us the right way to go in the dark and leads us to where we want to go, the Bible shows us the right way to live – God’s way - and leads us to Jesus, God’s Son. Psalm 119:105 says, ”Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk.”
Belinda also gave waffle the ‘BIKI’, or, BIBLE INFORMATION KNOWLEDGE INTERFACE, which helped explain how we have the Bible as it is today.
But what about the Evil Genius’s Waffle robot? Will he manage to steal the Bible from Waffle and Belinda? Be sure to come next Sunday to find out!

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:
Timothy 3: 16.  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults..

13/7/14
Today, in Junior edge, Waffle (that yellow fluffy puppet) discovered an amazing book – the Bible. This book is actually a whole heap of books put together. The incredible thing about this book is that it is alive and active for God speaks to us through it! We learnt that it is like a two-edged sword because it goes deep into our thoughts and shows us where we are wrong and, if we allow it, can change us.
I wonder if the Evil Genius really knows what he is trying to steal?
This week’s question: How many books are actually in the Bible?

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:
2 Timothy 3: 16. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error . . .

The BIG challenge for this term is to learn all the books of the Bible from memory. There will be a special prize for those that achieve this by the end of the term!

15/6/14
Moses was a man chosen by God to do a very special job. He led thousands of people out of Egypt, where they were slaves, to a new land and freedom. Moses depended on God to guide and help him, so each day he would spend time with God, finding out what God wanted him and the people to do.
Moses and God spent time together and God wants to spend time together with you and me. Often we are so busy that we forget to spend time with God, but if we are to going to become best friends with Him, if we are going to get to know Him better, we need to make time. Some people prefer to have time with God first thing in the morning; others prefer just before bed. The time isn’t important. What is important is that you make time to be together with Him!
This week’s question: What strange thing did the people notice about Moses after he had spent time with God? (You can find the answer in Exodus 34:28-35)

Remember to learn the Bible verse for this week:
Jesus said, “Here I Am. I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”   Revelation 3:20

Sunday, 8 June 2014

8/6/14
In Junior edge today we heard the story Jesus told about a man who gave a huge banquet. When the party was ready, he sent a servant out to tell all those he had invited to come, but everyone made excuses and refused to go to the party.
Jesus has invited us to a big celebration in heaven. Will you accept the invitation, or will you be like the people in the story and make up excuses? Think seriously about what you will do because this is the most important invitation you will ever receive!
This week’s question: What were three of the excuses that the people made? (You can read this story in Luke 14:16-24)

This is the last week for this Bible verse:
He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing full of love. Ephesians 4:16

Come next Sunday and discover how it is BETTER TOGETHER with JESUS!!

What an AMAZING job all the kids did today! It was so great to see you putting into practice what we have been learning – that each of us has a special part to play in God’s plan for the church. I know many of you spent time at home practicing your different roles – THANK YOU!
Thanks, too, to all the leaders and parents who helped in many different ways. Isn’t it great when we all work together for Jesus!!

Check out the 'Arty the Ant' story and see the amazing illustrations produced by Peter Hensworth with Jasmine, Joshua G, Anna and Isaac on the 'Arty the Ant' page.

Don’t forget that next Sunday, 8th June, is a FUN DAY for JUNIOR EDGE. We will be learning how God has a big party planned for all those who have chosen to follow Jesus – a party so much better than we can even imagine!
DON’T FORGET TO BRING A PLATE OF FOOD TO SHARE.

Don’t forget our Bible verse:
He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing full of love. Ephesians 4:16
