13/3/16
It certainly is Not Fair that many kids in India do not have access to their basic rights – like enough food, clean water, adequate housing, not having to work and education.
God does not like to see these kids being treated this way! Through our giving to Kakanada Children’s Home we all have an opportunity to help right these wrongs.

Our Bible memory verse for this week says,

Be fair and give justice to the poor and homeless.”  Proverbs 31:  8-9

Today, in the family service, Heather talked about how when we do something for God’s people it is like doing it for Jesus. Our giving, our fundraising – while we are doing it for Kakanada Children’s Home, at the same time we are doing it for Jesus!

Don’t miss next Sunday at Junior Edge –

ANOTHER WORLD India

Today we ‘met’ a couple of kids who live in a slum –Azijul and Taniya. We also heard about Billy, a modern day ‘Good Samaritan’. Billy runs the Kakanada Children’s Home, a place for kids whose parents have died or whose parents have abandoned them because they are too poor to care for them.
At KCH these kids have a home; they are fed, they go to school, they receive medical treatment when they are sick, they learn about Jesus. They are loved.

Well done to all those who acted out the parable of the ‘Good Rag-piker’. You all did a great job!
The poor are not treated well in India. Many people ignore them because they are “dirty”. They are often not helped at hospitals or banks, and they are often hassled by police. But Jesus wants us to treat others differently. Jesus told us to . . .

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, love your neighbour as yourself.

JUST A REMINDER: Next week is the Family Service. There is no Junior Edge next week.
See you on the 13th March.

ANOTHER WORLD India

Today we experienced a little of what it is like to be poor and living in a slum in India. Some people got sick because they weren’t vaccinated; others got diarrhoea because they didn’t use the toilets provided by the government.
Many kids didn’t know what to do, or what services they could use because they weren’t educated and couldn’t read. I think we all learnt how difficult life is for the poor in India.
The poor in India are outcasts – they are considered worthless, or unimportant. But to God they are very important.  And they need Jesus and the hope He brings just as much as you and I do.
